During the last weekend of August I was in Victoria, BC to attend For The Love of Coffee and to judge the Western Canadian Barista Championship and the Canadian Pairs Barista Competition. The second day started off with two years of research regarding the “thin months” in Nicaragua when 85% of coffee farmers experience difficulty putting food on the table.
The final round of the 2011 Nicaragua COE offered some amazingly well balanced coffees with tart acidity and rich bodies.
